DANIEL HECHTER REINVENTED ACCESSIBLE FASHION IN THE 60’S

Daniel Hechter was among the pioneering French designers who shaped the emergence of ready-to-wear, making luxury more accessible to a wider audience and part of everyday life through effortless, easy-to-wear fashion.

The brand initially developed through women’s collections, followed by childrenswear and later menswear, progressively expanding into a complete wardrobe. Building on its strong heritage and distinctive DNA, the brand has extended beyond apparel into complementary product categories, evolving into a global lifestyle brand with international success.

1962

CREATION OF THE BRAND WITH WOMENSWEAR

In 1962, Daniel Hechter created the brand and launched his first womenswear collection.

Kidswear

In 1965, he launched his first kidswear collection

1967

Maxi Dress

In 1967, he disrupted the fashion world with his « maxi » dress pattern while the miniskirt was thriving

1968

Menswear

In 1968, he launched the menswear collection which had an immediate success.

1973

PSG

In 1973, Daniel Hechter bought the Paris St Germain club that he raised to the 1st division level.
He was one of the most  visionary french designers who first linked Fashion with Sport. Since then, Sport has always been at the heart of the brand's DNA.

Design of the iconic PSG “Hechter Stripe” jersey, establishing the club’s signature colors and inspiring the brand’s visual identity ever since.

Sport collection

In 1975, he launched the first Sport Collection.

1998

MILTENBERGER OTTO AULBACH GMBH AQUIRES THE BRAND

In 1998, Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH, long term licensee for for Daniel Hechter in Germany, acquired the brand. By restructuring collections, the current owners are strengthening its success all over the world.

2012

50 years

In 2012, the brand celebrated its 50th anniversary with a campaign signed by Peter Lindbergh.

2018

INNOVATION & PERFORMANCE EXPANSION

Launch of the DH-XTECH line, introducing innovative suits and shirts developed with 37.5® technology, designed to regulate body temperature and enhance everyday comfort and performance.
At the same time, the brand reinforced its long-standing connection to sport and performance through a three-year partnership with Renault Sport Formula One Team. The collaboration included team outfitting and the launch of the DH x RS capsule collection, distributed in key Formula 1 markets.
Since then, collections have continued to integrate technical, wrinkle-free and ultra-light fabrics, delivering effortless, city-ready pieces aligned with the brand’s DNA of comfort and performance.

HECHTER PARIS

Daniel Hechter becomes HECHTER PARIS and is now positioned in the premium segment.

2025

HECHTER GOLF, HECHTER CUP

In 2025, HECHTER PARIS introduced HECHTER GOLF, a new menswear collection dedicated to golf — a natural extension of the brand’s long-standing connection to sport, performance and movement.
Launched during the first HECHTER CUP, an annual national competition held at Madinaty Golf Club in Cairo, the line was expanded to womenswear in 2026, establishing a complete and evolving golfwear offering.

FROM FASHION TO LIFESTYLE

Opening of the first Hechter Café within the HECHTER PARIS boutique in Dongguan, extending the brand beyond fashion into a refined and immersive French lifestyle universe.
